Word

I started this document half way through last year. Every time I thought a word might work, I added it to the list. As of today, this is what I have.

Radiant
Constant
essential
...and...
BEGIN
open
eliminate
be still
peace
Wholeheartedness
purposefully live
GENTLE
calm
trust
Rhythm
interest
gain
alert
lively
spirited

I still haven't narrowed it down, though they all DO seem similar. I'm just not tripping over the ONE. And that nasty limbo has crept back into my life and I'm having a tough time focusing. I'm am thinking, though. It's on my mind and I'm confident I'll have something to work on soon. I don't want to force it. In the meantime, I'd love to hear what you've come up with this year. Maybe inspiration isn't totally run dry.

  1. My word for the year (I like the idea and I'm following your lead- so THANK you for that) is Home. Which works well because last year it seem my word was house. So this year is "home".

  2. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with Gratitude, though the jury is still out.

    1. Also a good one. My jury is ALMOST in, but I'm doing a final gut check!

  3. I'm trying to define my thoughts into one WORD too... no luck yet. It might have to be a mission statement this year or something. All of your words are awesome and caused me to think a bit deeper about what I'm planning to do.

    1. Oddly, I don't think I'm going to end up picking any of them. Maybe.

  4. Just for the record, I love Essential, Rhythm, Alert, and Purposefully Live

  5. I had it narrowed down to three words and could not decide which one to use, so I decided that because they all work together, I would use all three. The words are faith, prayer, and trust.

  6. I have thought about what word I would use for a year for the last couple of years and can't come up with a thing! I think it's the pressure of ONE word! Only one? I have a thing with decisions like that. I would love to join you, though...this could really take a while. Looking forward to your final decision.

    1. That's funny. I find it the opposite! Very liberating from traditional resolutions. Except this year, clearly!

  7. I'm glad you're not totally decided. It makes me feel better. Sometimes I feel like if I don't have it all figured out by the 1st then I'm starting the year off on the wrong foot.
I usually have a word and then I make goals in different categories based around that word. I find I need specific goals more than just a word, but that's just how I am.
I can't wait to hear your word. (And I sure wish I could figure out mine.)
