You Decide

Sammy has spent the past week digging for fossils in our front yard. He's sad he's yet to come across a bone. We have several packages of soup bones in our freezer. On a scale, how wrong is it to bury one for him to find?

Discuss...

(as an aside...I already like Sammy's new teacher 1000x better. I've been able to clearly see what was bothering me that I couldn't vocalize about his previous teacher. It's good.)

  1. Ummmm..... Hm. How much will he believe it is real? Will you tell him it's not? And then will he be mad or think it's funny?

How did the meeting go? I need details!

    1. I want to say he wouldn't, but I'm not sure. I would tell him. I think he would think it's funny?

I'm so happy he's where he is. So.Happy. And I'll tell you about it when I come get Sammy this afternoon.

  2. Then I'd do it. Burying it, letting him find it and think it's real would bug me somehow.

  3. I'm so glad his new teacher is working out well!

Porter has been wanting to dig for fossils this week as well. I have been trying to convince him not to dig in our yard. Maybe I will put some in the rock box. :)

  4. Just catching up on your bliggity blog! Man, you are a faithful blogger. I am inspired to do better!!! Mark my words! Or maybe not. I'd hate for you to be disappointed.

Anyway, so have you spent some time in the new class? I have not. But Jake seems pretty excited that the principal has been teaching them! :)

And about the dino bones? Dude, that would be awesome. My kids would go nuts!

And finally, I feel that another lunch out is in order. How do you feel about that? Don't text me, though. Harper gave my phone a bath today...

    1. Faithful or needed for sanity? Hmmmm....

A little. And I'm pretty in love. She's great and strict and structured and it's lovely. LOVELY. Everything I had an issue with (and that meeting was good to discuss it all)

Yes. Lunch. Soon. I'll talk to you today at school.

  5. You could always make a game out of it for him. Tell him that you have buried X amount of bones in Y area and see if he can find them. They don't even have to be real bones, they could be some hardy rocks that you guys have painted up as dinosaur bones or something so that it doesn't attract dogs to come dig in your yard, just Sammy... That way he knows that there are "bones" to find somewhere, but he doesn't get hurt when they aren't real because he helped make them in the first place... Just a thought.
