Week in Pictures

Friday - Oh. The laundry.

Saturday - BBQ. Good times.

Sunday - Hair cuts always make him look older. Sigh...

Monday - Wrapped up in blankets. In June. And he wasn't really warm...

Tuesday - My new shoes! My new shoes are here! EEEEEEEEEEEE! Guys, these were so RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but I love them so much. So very, very much. It's a little wrong how much. So if you hate them, don't say anything. Or lie.

These have an octagonal heel. It's divine.

Wednesday - Purged 1/2 of Sammy's toys. WHEW. I, at least, feel better...

Thursday - I clearly should have been a train track designer. Oh, wait...Engineer?

Bedroom Redux - Part One

Before, our master bedroom had the "leftover" stuff on the walls. And I hated it. So I spent a few months scouring etsy for art and deciding what to get that would finally say "haven" for our room. And I did it!

Some befores - after I took the 'leftovers' off the wall and started collecting some of the stuff that will stay:

And how it stands now. Mid redo. I'm already in love with it.

This is the main wall. The vision was things that spoke to me and created a feeling of love and unity. So pleased.

I love the individual pieces. I sat with all of them, picking them slowly and purposefully. Every one.

I love this one especially. I'm so glad it worked out to be the centerpiece.

On the opposite wall, we have a three picture set. Which is just a favorite thing.

To finish, I need to get this to go above our nightstands, a couple of other etsy prints for "the wall", something for the blank wall near the bathroom door and paint.

And then it will be done! Done, done, done! Yay!

Top 5 Most Played

These come up as my most played songs, via iTunes.

1. Absolutely Still - Better Than Ezra

2. Fall Into Place - Apartment

3. Minds Made Up - The Frames

4. Bubble Toes - Jack Johnson

5. World Spins Madly On - The Weepies

*This seems right. Though I'm completely surprised by the lack o' Finn...I call foul. The first of any Finn sighting is at number 13. Which is this. Which I wholeheartedly agree with.

(driving me mad, neil finn...and, why yes! Yes that is Johnny Marr playing with him...)

Do You Know What Makes Me Happy?

This. This picture right here. BBQ at our friends home - everyone laughing, crowded in, having a great time. My heart is so buoyed.

(My favorite photo from the night...it just cracks me up. This is Sammy's best friend Beck. They've quickly become inseparable.)

(Lacy trying to keep her legs warm...hee!)

So, I Don't Know if You've Heard... (part the second)

Monday afternoon we headed to Dylan's Candy Bar. Four floors of candy goodness. It was a little insane!

But we found these. Which brought a HUGE wave of childhood nostalgia. Anyone?

Times Square:

On Tuesday. Brooklyn. LOVE! It's so my new favorite.

(look! a tree really DOES grow in Brooklyn!)

Lunch!

Ambiance:

Fat and really happy:

Grand Central:

Me and my friend Jill:

The Cloisters. Which were closed, sadly. But still beautiful.

Wednesday was HOT. I had forgotten how all consuming heat plus humidity can be. It was the only point in the week that I was sad we didn't opt for a hotel with central air. HOT, people! I had to go to Old Navy and pick up a skirt since all I had packed were jeans (so much for weather . com...). We saved the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, wisely thinking it would be cooler than something in the city. It was a good call. Except that first hour standing in line waiting for the ferry...

Sammy. SO very happy to be on a boat!

Ellis Island:

Thursday, we had to be checked out by 11 and our flight wasn't until "8:30". So we hung out at the Museum of Natural History in between. And....this is the only picture I got from that. Huh. Probably because I was looking less than pretty, actually. Maybe not so huh after all!

Our flight ended up being delayed about 4 hours due to lightning. Add 1 1/2 hours on the runway before take off, we didn't really leave until about 1:30ish a.m. Sigh...I've never been so happy to take off before!

Sammy was sad to leave. See?

But then he was just passed out until about 1/2 hour out of Salt Lake. I was jealous...
