IKEA wins again! I have found a shower curtain liner that DOES NOT SMELL AT ALL when new, out of the package. Sometimes God says yes. Sometimes no. Sometimes (well, a LOT of the time) he says IKEA and I don't listen because that means spending $2 on a liner instead of my normal 99 cents. But, lo. I will listen from now on. Hallelujah! A liner that doesn't smell as though it will kill upon impact with the nose!
Back to your regularly scheduled life...
(you win again, the bee gees: as I was trying to remember who sang this, forever live and die by OMD kept going through my brain. Odd, yeah? Until I remembered that OMD followed you win again on a mixed tape my sister gave me YEARS ago. Hee! What a funny brain association...)

Week in Pictures
Friday - Um, nothing. I was in a BAD MOOD Friday. Stupid doctor's receptionist...
Saturday - waiting for daddy

Sunday - getting the bag ready for church

Monday - Sammy getting in on the camera act

Tuesday - Chomper (the giant crane) plays in a LOT of Sammy's dreams. But as bad as they are, he won't part with him because it was a gift from his cousin. I woke up Tuesday to Sammy's way of dealing with it...

Wednesday - Sammy and his friend speaking through their animals at lunch

Thursday - Feeding time with the stuffties

(digging your scene - the blow monkeys)

That's Just Wrong
I didn't have a post in mind for today. I had a long day yesterday and a lot of things to catch up on, but then this conversation happened with my kid this morning and I felt it need to be documented in all its sadness.
"Mommy? The (newspaper) said it's green air today, yay!"
Wow. How sad that my 4 year old not only knows what that means, but where to check to see what the air quality is? I know it's one of the trade offs for living where we live, this winter inversion, but...sad. Even more sad than my sister and I driving through a canyon yesterday, looking out over a valley, and gasping, "Oh, wow! You can actually see the mountains! The air is so clean!".
Sigh...

For the Simplicity of it All
Have you read anything about the movement of people who are striving to live with 100 items or less? I am completely fascinated by it. While completely and UTTERLY unrealistic in my life, I kinda admire it. Or, hey! How about THIS article. Man. While I don't want to go completely waste free (I love my take out too much!), it definitely has given me something to think about.
About a week ago, I cleaned my closet. And not in the little "move things around, done in 15 minutes" clean. I CLEANED. It took me about four hours and by the time I was done, everything had been touched and gone through: all clothes, jewelry, shoes, scarves, purses, bags, everything. I took everything out and started clean. I only put back in what made the cut. Things I haven't worn in a year? Gone. Three months? Gone. Things I hesitated on for just a second? Gone. I was BRUTAL in my cutting. Usually, when I clean and organize, I let the "maybes" slide and go back in. This time? Nope. Jewelry was combed and thinned. Shoes. Oh, the shoes. Several pairs of boots. Gone. Shoes, purses. Oh, the purses and bags. I tossed just more than half my collection. When I was done, my closet could breathe. I could move things on the rack easily. I could SEE what I owned. Lighter, lovely, manageable. I could see the wisdom in the "less is more" mantra. I could understand why people would pare down to the least possible pot of stuff they need. And I could definitely FEEL why you should surround yourself with the "need and love" rule.
Isaac came home and asked if I was done. If I felt my house was "clean enough" yet. I had to chuckle. The answer was no. I have several more rooms to go...this is going to be one holy of a yard sale. And it will be several somebody's lucky day. But the best thing is that the stuff will no longer be living in my house, stagnating. It will find new life with a new love. And cut my numbers down. Even just a little.
(simply red, money's too tight to mention)

Two Guys
I've talked about it before. The NEED for this to be on DVD. And then I went to lunch with friends. Friends who had never heard of it before, but loved both Nathan and Ryan. So now? Now I'm pleading. PLEASE. For the LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY AND GOOD ON THIS EARTH. Why isn't Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place on DVD? Why? WHY? WHY????
Ryan Reynolds? Good. Nathan Fillion? GOOD.
(rem, love is all around)
