Holy Cow

It's nearly July. The summer is nearing half over (which is WRONG considering we've only had one true week of it so far!) and I'm finding I still have so much I want to do. So I've decided to make a list. Whether or not we do all of it (doubtful!) isn't the point. It's just good to get it all down and then we can sift through as a family and focus on what is important enough to us to actually do. So...in no particular order...

Tawnya Family Summer o' Fun:

-Spend the day in Jackson Hole
-Campus ice cream / games on the quad
-Brace my soul for a trip to Utah county for sandwiches
-Salt Flats or Antelope Island
-Day in Bear Lake
-School shopping in Park City / SLC
-Overnight trip for our anniversary
-Def Leppard with friends
-Our town's annual Main Street sidewalk sale, complete with stopping for lunch
-Picnic and feed the ducks
-Water balloons (Sammy's birthday party?)
-Dinner on the patio at any of our favorite restaurants
-Research weekend in Moab. Or St. George. But probably Moab.
-Convince Sammy that riding a bike is fun
-Curl up on the bed, a/c blasting, under a blanket and READ. Also, with Sammy. So he'll stop saying it's "boring" because that? Nearly kills me.
-Fireworks! My favorite!
-Invite friends for picnic / games for family night
-Walk to get ice cream for dinner
-Indulge in sno cones at every opportunity
-Movie outside - either at a drive in or park or rent a projector
-Convince Isaac I need a Jeep (ok, just kidding. Sort of...)
-Schedule family pictures
-New school friend play date
-David Gray concert
-Paint bedrooms
-Dinosaur park / zoo / SLC groupon passes
-Find screen door. And porch rockers.
-S'mores. Which require a fire pit...
-Read on the porch at night with lemonade
-Isaac's family party

Already done:
-Family vacation
-Summerfest
-BBQ with friends
-U2 concert

And....GO!

  4. Mom / Lacey - there's a restaurant there that has the BEST sandwiches on earth. Mmmmmmmmmm. I miss them. Desperately. Often. But Utah Co. a)sucks and b) is really far away. So we rarely go.

Trish - anything on yours I should be stealing from you?

  8. Fun list! I love new ideas!

We're going to Yellowstone, a couple family reunions, and have my half marathon the end of August. John and I might go skydiving for our anniversary. Romantic eh? I told him that we can't go at the same time. One must go before the other and land safely to make sure our children will have at least one parent, should something go wrong. Gotta think about those kind of things you know! John just says I worry too much.

We have gone to the dino park in Ogden the past two summers. The boys love it!

    Your list looks great:)

Mine keeps getting shorter as I realize it's almost July already.... WHERE DID JUNE GO????

  10. Camille - I TOTALLY get that! Sky diving is risky and you have kids! Yikes! And we've never been to the Dino Park. Which...I don't know why!

Lacy - they are divine. Any time you want to road trip with me, my friend! And, well, yeah. I know we won't get to even half! Darn late summer...

  15. Maggie - no. Not writing. Just "we went on vacation early and will need SOMETHING this fall" ing. Moab may be doable.

Kim! I forgot you were coming! Will I get to see you? The place is Sensuous Subs. It's right on Center in Provo. DIVINE. http://www.sensuoussandwich.com/ I usually get the Au Natural with a bunch of veggies on it. YUM. Now I really want one!

  18. If you go to Moab, try Bucks Grill House. Pricey, but good. Don't open till 5 p.m. and not sure what they have for Sammy. Definitely not sandwichs. Dad

  19. Eh. Sammy eats whatever. I'm sure we could find him something! We'll definitely look it up if we go. Thanks, Dad.
