Sammy's nightly prayer:
"And thank you for nursery. And the racing car. And the ambulance. And the train. And I got to play with my friends. And the little boy crying and me crying..."
After the prayer:
Me: "Sammy, why were you crying in church?"
Me: "Why was the little boy crying in church?"
Sammy: "Because I hit him."
WHAT THE WHAT? Can I tag out yet? I'm pretty sure we just entered new territory, here...
oh, no...I just laughed so hard I'm pretty sure I peed a little...
ReplyDeleteReally? Oddly, I was not laughing. This after I just spent the Sunday School hour fretting because he wasn't standing up for himself and was letting the kids take his toys. I was complaining to Isaac that he didn't know how to stand up for himself and we were raising a push over who would be muttering "give me my stapler" on the playground...
ReplyDeleteHuh.
When Evan was in nursery I got the weekly report from the leaders about who he had beaten up. It was stressful. I can't tell you how many times we had the "hands are not for hitting" talk.
ReplyDeleteAt least Sammy is repentant. Great story.
I will have to send you some flare to go with that stapler.
ReplyDeleteSweet Sammy! Love his honesty about it. It's new weird territory...
Here, just to give Sammy a bit of a head start, T....

D - I may have to put that in his stocking this year...
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha!!!! push over. yeah.
ReplyDeleteYou you you took my stapler.
Hey, the remorse thing is a good sign.
ReplyDeleteI'm not certain he was so much repentant as he was just matter of fact...
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought that was why he was crying. Because he felt bad.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be nice? While that IS a possibility (too mortified to get the rest of the story...), it's more likely that he was crying because the kid tried to take his "amblience" away from him and Sammy hit him to get it back. I'm almost POSITIVE the tears would have come from the kids trying to take stuff away from him. When I asked him earlier why HE was crying, I got a "I wanted mommy and daddy" out of him. So...
ReplyDeleteoh gosh!!! hilarious
