-I really need to feel more sympathy when it's Isaac's side of the bed he climbs into...but sympathy somehow gets lost in that big 'ole bed! I'm such a bad wife...
-I'm so weary listening to things about the economy. Very, very weary. I wonder if the media wouldn't talk about it for a month what would happen. (and I'm not one that whole-heartedly believes in the mystical power of the media!)
-I want to take a pottery class. It's something that I could never fit into my schedule in college and the desire has never left...
-I actually LIKE Ramen.
-I heard some disappointing things about my department at the University I attended. I understand the whys, but the news overall was still upsetting.
-No Doubt is coming in concert. Wrong that I really, really want to go? (Ooh, Sharon - Paramore is opening for them. How much would James love that?!)
-I think I may actually be over American Idol. It feels...liberating.
-I bought U2's album this week ($3.99 Amazon digital download...how crappy can it be? Oh, wait...). I firmly blame the economy for making me do it. (hee! joke, joke, joke...)
-Ring of the week:

Simple. Flat. Easy to wear. Called tattoo. What I wear when I need something not silver. From here. Again.
-Song of the week:
(things can only get better, howard jones)
1) because I really want to believe it, 2) I was randomly thinking this week that I saw him live 3 times in about a 3 year period. So weird. 3) Check out the hair. That's the best part!

-none of my kids climb into bed with us anymore. I'm not sad about that.
-economy schmonomy. We were poor before, we're poor now; hasn't changed anything in our lives! Yeah! I think I just found an upside of being poor!
-Ohhhh....pottery! I think they offer it as an adult ed class.
-um...ew.
-not as disappointing as the news this week from my department!!
-We haven't watched AI this season. It is nice. I'm fully converted to Biggest Loser now and just cannot wait for SYTYCD.
-We've been watching them on Letterman this week. Ugh, just ugh! Do you think people still like them out of habit? Fear of not being cool if you don't like the media's favorite music baby? I don't get it. I can't stand any of the songs I've heard. I am, however, excited for DM's new album.
-I think it is so weird that you've seen him 3 times and I never have. Of course you saw new Hojo, and I would have wanted to see old Hojo, hair and all.
You should totally take a pottery class. I'd love to see what you create--you're so talented with making jewelry, I bet you'd do some awesome pottery.
Howard Jones rules.
Hey, connecting Howard Jones with AI. Didn't Sanjaya try doing that hair style and got laughed off the stage. Ha! Just kidding. Love the 80's hair!!!
sharon:
-I look forward to that day.
-economy schmonomy indeed. That's why we're shopping tomorrow - in protest!
-Really? I may need to look into that. I really do want to take a class.
-well...
-What about your department? I didn't hear.
-ME NEITHER!!! SYTYCD countdown!
-I bought out of habit. There's a couple of songs that are ok, but it's certainly not great. Had it not been $3.99 and me annoyed at the economy, I wouldn't have bought it. DM has a new album? Sweet!
-The best one was in...94. Wait. '95. At the E Center. No new album to promote. Just him doing old stuff. It was awesome.
Susan:
Aw, thanks! Whether it be now or when Sammy's in school, I think I will.
Kim:
I think Sanjaya DID do the hair, but I think the backlash was more Sanjaya related and less hair related! I heard he has an album out now. Scary.
I just love Howard.
I am with you on sleeping kids who won't stay still. When my kids do this I usually wake up yelling OUT...GET OUT OF MY BED! Pottery class sounds like a fun idea. I always think of Demi Moore in "Ghost" I know it might seem blasphemous, but I never really got into American Idol. If it just happens to be on I won't change the channel, but no real desire has struck me. I have seen NO DOUBT in concert and it was AMAZING!! But, I am more the heathen type. Have a great weekend!
I don't know that I've seen Ghost in its entirety. I thought what I DID see was awful, though...speaking of blasphemous!
pottery, do it!
I am a little excited about No Doubt, too and Paramore. She's got an interesting voice.
I love that Gavin still loves to climb into bed with us and watch cartoons.
I love that you do Friday Random. I totally look forward to it.
I have a distinct memory of you making me watch Ghost with you years ago... while you still lived at home.... and i was and at you for ages (probably like a day or something) because of it....
Ew. That would NOT have been me. I have ALWAYS hated that movie.
What is goulash? I'm looking for new recipes...
Laura - I know different people make it different ways. In our house it was always a leftover / anything in the house type of dish...usually something between taco soup and sloppy joes, but with pasta. Hamburger, onions, garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, macaroni, spices all mixed together.
Are you looking for anything specific?
I'm just in a rut and I like to look at your weekly menu. Pretty silly that I didn't know what goulash was. I think I could definietly throw something like that together with what's piled up by Thursday. The kids will get a kick out of a new name for it!
P.S. You'd be proud to know that we were going through our cd collection with James last week to help him pick out what kind of music he likes and the Finn, Weller, Cole mix you made us years ago was in his top 3. Made his Dad smile too.... It's so fun to watch your kid develop a definite taste in music!
Oh, Laura. That makes me so happy! Yay for James! (hee!)
If I come across a great new recipe, I'll make sure to share!
Laura, our name for it was usually "everything in the kitchen". I remember once Tawnya asked why it had the same name, but everytime I fixed it, it was different. Usually just a way to fix left overs that would be eaten. Tawnya's Mom
