Perfect

It was the perfect holiday weekend. We spent Thursday at my sister's eating and playing games and watching really bad movies (yes, I'm looking at you Vince!). Then on Friday, while Isaac was at work, I made the 2 block trek back to Sharon's to bead. All day. I haven't been able to do that since...how old is Sammy? However, he happily played all day leaving us free to bead and catch up on some projects. Isaac joined us for leftovers after work and I fell into bed last night full of food with my necklace stash a little bigger. See? Perfect.

Here's the jewelry I made yesterday, starting with a long chain / more blue than turquoise chunky bead and a red / orange bead that will go perfect with jeans:

Next up is a green / brown necklace. I made it really long so I could double wrap it. I also used mismatched bronze beads next to the green beads to change the fussy look a little. I am really loving it.

I could NOT get a good picture of this one. The square beads are a very deep blue grey / silver color and the small tube beads inbetween are ice blue. Very cool, very winter feel to it.

This one is really fun. The glass beads are a mustard-y yellow brown and burnt red swirled. Love. Thinking I need to restring on chain, though, to get rid of the wire completely.

This is my favorite of the day. It's so delicate looking and so, so pretty. Silver filagree and printed turquoise beads. I wanted it longer, but I bought out the last of the beads, so I went choker length. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing it with, but I'm definitely wearing this tomorrow!

And, mostly for Diane, my new purses. I really need to stay away from TJMaxx. Cheap Nine West pures are such a downfall...

Purse One, a faux croc deep burgandy/brown tote:

And Purse Two, a mustard colored bag that I am so in love with...

We Gather Together...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone has a happy holiday. As for us, we will be at my sister's with more food than you can imagine, games and movies galore all while clad in pjs all day long. Just the way the Pilgrims intended. I'm sure of it.

Because I Have No Shame, vol. 5

Today we see a seven year old Tawnya. Hair in ringlet pigtails and the exact same non-smile smile on her face in all three pictures. Creepy; what was that about? The orange dress was super long, if I remember right. Very pioneer chic. The second picture features one of my favorite t-shirts. I can't believe I talked Mom into letting me wear it for picture day. How did that happen? In the last picture, I remember those toys very clearly. I thought they were awesome and when Sammy came along, I searched all over for something similar. It wasn't to be, though. Look how cute Dustin was...and yet; bald then, bald now! (kidding...joke, joke, joke) That was also my favorite birthday cake ever. I was so happy with it!

Lost Weekend

We had lots of family stuff happening this past week. Isaac's brother and his wife had their first baby; an adorable boy named Caleb. We can't wait to see them!

Then, my nephew Andy got married on Friday. He looked so handsome and Leza, his wife, looked beautiful. It was a cool and clear perfect fall day and from where I was sitting, everything seemed to have gone wonderfully. (all photos shamelessly stolen from family since I was a camera slacker all weekend!)
