Well...That's Interesting!

What do these things have in common?

If you said my a/c decided to freeze up and then thaw springing a leak behind my wall and cabinets while my sister and I canned 19 jars of raspberry jam, you'd be right!

You should have SEEN that water bubble behind the paint before we drained it. We have super human (super paint?) paint. We thought it would burst several times, but it never did. All seems fine, now. Just a minor disturbance and REALLY bad timing!

And on a different note:

Sammy puts himself to sleep everynight by reading his Cars books. Cracks me up. I love that he and his animals are all in the exact same position. Well, since we call the puppy dead dog due to lack of stuffing and sitting capabilities, maybe not...

Checking

Sorry - just checking the comments. They seem to be showing up only 1/2 the time on the last post for some reason...or is it just me since you all seem to be commenting fine?

Do You Ever Wonder?

(Do You Ever Wonder, Alison Moyet)

As I read blogs, I wonder about the lives I'm peaking in on. How accurate a representation they are, what makes someone choose to share something and hold other snippets back. How do we, those of us that choose to share our lives online, decide how to present ourselves? Is it a conscious decision every time we type or is it just what you are feeling at any given moment? Is the life we portray online the same as our life off?

I'm a fairly open person. If you ask me something, chances are good I'll tell you. There are some things I won't talk about with just anyone, but those things are rare. And if it is something I choose not to talk about, chances are still good that you'll get a highlight reel instead of the nitty-gritty. I'm opinionated and I know it. I think I portray a pretty honest slice of life here. But, still. I wonder...

I lurk around a few blogs that I don't comment on. Some are people from my past that I don't have anything to say to. Some are strangers. But with all of them I wonder what life is really like. I'd love to have the full story behind the snippits. I'd love to be a fly on the wall and see, in full honesty, how people really live.

Panache. With Double Ache.

I'm in a complete parenting slump. You know the days that you wake up and think, "My gosh. If I have to change one more diaper or tell him no one more time or read this stupid book again I'm booking the first flight to Tahiti"? Sammy is ushering in his third year of life loudly and with panache.

I'm in complete awe of those women who parent quietly and serenly. Happily, even. The ones who don't lose their temper or yell. The ones who play nicely with their children building towers and elaborate Matchbox car roads for 37 hours a day. The ones who bake and sew with their children so their kids will be well prepared to provide decades of showing up their neighbors when they are grown. The ones who never tire of reading the It's Okay Book for the gosh darn millionth time. (and who would never think to use such vulgarity as "Gosh Darn" ) The ones who put all needs aside to give 24 hour assistance to their child. With their scheduled field trips and three year olds who read at a 12th grade level and the life lessons built into everything, even sneezing; all the while their houses are cleaned by fairies and phone magic makes the appointments and the household errands are either non-existant or done by unicorns and food springs up as if out of no where to rousing applause whenever needed by the wonderful mother, sitting and smiling, teaching her 4 month old quantum physics.

I tell you. Completely in awe.
