Lost

I seem to have lost something dear in the process of moving: free time. I'm not sure where it went or how I lost it, but it's apparently gone. I used to have days that I didn't have to do anything and Sammy and I could bum around and do what we want. Now I'm having trouble keeping up on things and everyday seems to have something going on.

Seriously. If I could find the time, I'd actually schedule some of our routine day to day tasks and then maybe I wouldn't feel so badly that we have something to do. Again! I miss my schedule!

Post the Second: The Kitchen

Ready? Here we go...

Going from the living room into the kitchen, this is the hallway. My laundry closet is opposite of this print.

Here is the kitchen. I haven't completely decided what to do above the sink, but I'm thinking maybe some of those big silver Tuscan looking hammered out aluminum tiles as a back splash. Or something.

The kitchen / dining room together. Things to do: we have brushed nickle door knobs for the cupboards that we need to put on and we will be replacing all the light fixtures eventually to something not as, uh...bright. And shiny. And gold. Ew.

This is the dining room from the perspective of my little corner. The table is new to us (my sister refinished it) and we are currently searching for the perfect chairs to go with it. I also need to frame the print that is inbetween the windows and hang the curtains we got yesterday for the sliding glass door. I can't wait to get rid of those sliding glass door blinds. I hate them so! We also got a light fixture yesterday from IKEA that will go above the dining room table. It's much more me and I'll post a pic as soon as it's up.

My desk, shelves, books, etc.

A tall shot of my little corner. This is perhaps my favorite corner of the house.

This is looking into the living room from my little corner:

This is looking from the back of the dining room back into the living room. The door to the garage is in the center and the door to the family room / bathroom is off to the left:

This is the second post today...I put up pictures earlier of our crazy family weekend if you keep scrolling down...

Holy Weekend!

Several years ago my family decided to get together once a year since all of the siblings were grown, married and scattered. A couple of years ago Isaac and I adopted that tradition into his family as well. As karma would have it, it is our year to host both family parties. Whew! My family is slated for Labor Day and Isaac's family all came over on Monday.

This picture pretty much sums up the day: food and chatting!

We reserved a couple of lanes for bowling that afternoon:

That evening we topped it off at Chili's for dessert and then everyone headed home. A busy, lovely day!

Isaac and I kept the weekend festivities going yesterday with a trip to Salt Lake shopping. I don't feel as though I've sat down in three days!
