We Have Success!

(I don't know if you can see it, but that is snow coming down. In our back yard. Yesterday.)

(as seen from our car window this week...nice)

We decided not to put Sammy's crib together when we moved and see how he did with his toddler bed. And then we set up his pack n play and ignored the whole issue for a week! However, we moved his pack n play out to the garage yesterday (with the rest of the boxes...whee!) thinking we would put his crib rails back on before naptime. It didn't happen (instead, Isaac was putting up my shelves above my desk. They look awesome!) and we tried the toddler bed for naptime instead. Worked beautifully. And then we figured we might as well try it out at night as well. Again, worked great! He went right to bed, stayed in bed and slept all night. Today, naptime went smoothly again. I'm hoping this trend continues! The transition was much, much easier than I was anticipating and I'm not sure what to contribute it to. All the changes that happened at once? It still being his "bed", just without the rails, so it's still familiar? Stroke of luck? Karma? Whatever...I'll take it!

However we did find out this week that our boy is 100% city boy. We didn't do a lot of outings that involved grass before we moved. Parks, etc, were firmly citified with concrete. My sister watched Sammy a couple of days ago while we went and changed our registration and licenses and took Sammy outside to play. Unfortunately, I'm not sure he'll ever forgive her for making him play outside. On the grass. When we went shopping today, he'd barely look at her and would not acknowledge her at all. I think he may be broken... He's definitely not going to love the fact that I'm planning on spending all day tomorrow at her house helping her get the garden ready! He may hate me, too, by the time we're done! And let's not even talk about when I start sending him out in our yard to play...
